Good provider, but too expensive as opposed to other providers. In saying that however, Spark has always been great at matching competitors pricing for a limited time, when I have looked at switching due to cost.

* Often very long waiting times in customer service. * On limited bandwidth plan, Spark changed from throttling when reaching the monthly limit to charging extra without advising in a clear way - that was disappointing. * We also have a landline, and Spark have recently bumped up calling rates to many countries in EU from 7 ct to 15 ct per minute! Thinking about changing...

We live in Te Kauwhata, approximately 10 meters from the end of the fibre. We were offered VDSL but when they turned it on it was 6 times the latency of ADSL2 with frequent packet loss. Apparently some new protocol allowed them to connect us however it was not feasible. They also took two days to swap it back after cutting the VDSL off. We experience frequent drop-offs and brownouts lately which is far from ideal.

Got convinced to switch by a door seller. Told me repeatedly i would get a free upgrade to fiber when available. DIDNT tell me it would require starting a new 12 month contract (he had ticked a little box that said i agreed with out my permission or telling me). There customer service is the worst ive ever experiencied. Dont seem to care about long term customers. WAY to much effort is needed on the customers part to get in contact with them. mostly done through a glitchy online chat bot. cant just call them. When there is a issue, they are relcutant to offer any kind of compensation. Last of all when i canceled my account, they failed to send me an outstanding bill of $12 that was billed after i closed the account. No emails, no letters, then 6 months later a debt collection notice of $130 that had to be paid in full on the day! couldn't even get hold of them to dispute because my account was closed and can only contact them if you logged into your account which i no longer had.Dont deal with this company. They changed there name from telecom to spark because telecom had such a bad public image for customer service. Name changed, company did not.

Whilst not the cheapest, we are loyal and hope this means something. We are waiting for fibre in October to improve the experience by reducing the monthly spend and providing better coverage in the home.

I was an existing customer who moved. It took too long to change over to the new location. This meant we were without wifi for about a week. Not the best but we were given free mobile data which helped. This was only offered after we chased up the connection and complained about having to pay for mobile data.

Always helpful and their online message service lets you speak to the help desk remotely without waiting on the phone. Never had any problems, speeds are fast and I like all the free stuff you get with your broadband ie. lightbox, cheap cinema tickets, antivirus software etc.

Dealing with Spark is like a lottery - any given interaction could be a disaster or perfect; and you never know which it'll be. The constant is that almost anything you could theoretically complete online ends up needing a visit or phone call (or several !) before it's done.

Terrible. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have wasted years worth of money into this company, and they refuse to refund me. They have failed to fix our broadband for the 3rd time now, and after getting chorus in to fix the wiring themselves, spark fu** it all up again by sending us terrible broadband. This will be the 4th active week of us trying to get Spark to do something, and approximately over 100 Hours into the wait for their '24 hour' respond time for their services. Switching away from spark as soon as I can imagineably do so, and will never use the service again in my life.

The fibre to the house is awesome but the wifi inside the house is not so great. The tech tested the BB next to the router but not further down the house where the wifi is quite weak. I understand it is up to the customer to sort out the wifi inside the house but I would have appreciated a bit more help from Spark.

Switched Broadband from Slingshot to Spark. As a result of this Slingshot closed down my email account - failed to advise me they were going to do this and continued to debit my credit card for both email account and broadband, for several months. Took several months to reimburse me $$$ taken. Service poor . (wouldn't refund more than $200 until this got corrected. Then advised they don't refund less than $10 and finally I am advised my account statement was incorrect . I can understand now why they have only 16% of market

Appalling service! One week on Fibre, 2 major outages, no internet for hours...website says outage map is updated every 10 minutes, so we assumed the fault was with us and spent a couple of hours trying to fix it. It was an outage, we eventually found out.The wait time on calls to the help centre was about a week....online chat supposedly 20 minutes...all this using mobile data...my online chat timed out while I was waiting...my partner was connected with someone after about half an hour, and many irrelevant and annoying robot questions, who told him it was an outage. My advice, find another provider.

Unfortunately, they are expensive compared to others but I must say that I never had any networking problems with them for over 3 years. Support is good as they offer online chat with quick help and the queue is not long.Overall happy but thinking to change because of the price.

We live semi. rural Whangare (Parua Bay) . Currently Spark does not offer us a package For unlimited Broadband which is disappointing . In Winter months especially it would be nice not To have to worry about data usage. Otherwise good service.

Given a choice there is no way I would choose Spark but they are the only one we can get a decent signal from, maybe Vodaphone could but that's just getting out of the frying pan and into the fire. When we first hooked up our wireless connection the signal was only 2 bars ( we were promised 3 ) I can't believe the mucking around we got, and the outright lies, finished up with the Telecomunications Ombudsman to gt it sorted, all it needed was a less the $100 outside antenna. NOT recomended to deal with.
