How can I send a transaction?

Start by accessing your wallet.
Select ‘Send Transaction’.
Fill in the type of currency you’ll send, as well as the amount and the address that you’d like to send to. Double check all the details! You don’t want to make any mistakes as your funds cannot be recovered if you made the mistake of sending it to the wrong address. You also have the option to send your entire balance while your gas and gas limit are automatically generated based on network congestion.
Click ‘Send Transaction’ and confirm it on the next screen . You may need to confirm the transaction on your device if you’re also using the MEW wallet app, or another hardware wallet.
Your transaction should be posted! Copy your ‘transaction hash’ and keep it on your records.

I lost my private key! Can MEW help me recover it?

Unfortunately, Myetherwallet doesn’t manage any accounts nor stores information such as passwords, private keys, or emails, due to their non-custodial nature. Users need to be responsible for their own keys and their safety. MEW recommends looking at other backups you may have, such as your PC or any paper you may have written it down on.

Can I store altcoins in my MEW wallet?

Unfortunately, no. MEW only supports Ethereum and its other associated coins and tokens, making it a dedicated-currency wallet. Myetherwallet is upfront about all this and many users don’t really consider it a big deal since they knew what they were signing up for.

How do I create a new wallet?

MEW Wallet - The official mobile app

Start by opening the MEW wallet app on your iOS or Android device.
Select ‘Create a free wallet’.
Read the safety tips and instructions first. Then click ‘Create a wallet’.
Choose a strong PIN code. You may also enable additional security measures such as biometric access like fingerprints or facial recognition.
Wait for the app to generate your account then select ‘Start using MEW wallet’.

MEW CX - MEW’s Browser Extension

MEW’s browser extension allows you to connect to your favorite DApps while making use of the QuickSend feature. To install the extension:
Download the extension on Google Chrome and choose ‘Add to Chrome’. Make sure to double-check the provider, rating, and number of users.
After installing MEW CX, click the MEW icon on your toolbar. A pop-up should appear, asking you to add a wallet. Click that option.
Choose how you’d like to access your wallet or generate a new one. You should be done after this.
