Fees and charges

The Co-operative Bank Visa Credit Card has one of the lowest interest rates in NZ, along with a low purchase rate and long interest-free periods, making it one of the most Kiwi-driven credit card offers. It helps you to save money in the long run by letting you pay first for the highest-interest debt by default, to avoid getting stuck with it in the future. Although the interest rate is 12.95% p.a., it’s also a floating rate, which means it may also change. An account fee of  $10 every six months, a cash advance rate of 12.95% p.a., a purchase rate of 12.95% p.a., and an annual fee of $20, among other credit card fees, also apply.

Applying for the Fair Rate Credit Card

To ensure that you’ll be able to pay off your credit card bill, The Co-operative Bank will look into your credit history, income, investments, and other financial information. To apply, you’ll need to be a NZ permanent resident who’s at least 18 years of age, provide proof of your income (such as a recent payslip or a bank statement showing your salary deposit), and proof of identity (such as a NZ drivers licence or NZ passport).
