Types of AA Contents Insurance policies NZ:

Contents Insurance

This is AA contents insurance’s most comprehensive cover, which keeps all your belongings protected from sudden unforeseen loss, theft, and accidental events. Benefits you receive under this policy are as follows:

New for Old

If they cannot repair a lost or damaged item, AA guarantees that they’ll replace them with a new one or the closest equivalent. Certain items like footwear, cosmetics, or clothing will be covered for their market value.

Excess-free cover for food spoilage

Get up to $1000 in cover for food spoiling should your fridge or freezer suddenly breaks down, or if your power supply was accidentally interrupted. No need to pay an excess if there was no other damage!

Business tools and professional equipment

Your business equipment is automatically covered under your AA Home and Contents Insurance in NZ, should you lack any additional business-specific insurance.

Adjustable event limits

While there’s no need to list individual items, you also need to give the total combined value for items like jewellery, cameras, bicycles, works or art, and business tools in order to help with this benefit.

Legal liability

This is for accidental damage you may cause to someone else's property for up to $2 million.

Optional Extras for Comprehensive Cover:

$100 Excess on Eyewear

You are given the option to reduce your excess for spectacles, sunglasses, or contact lenses to just $100 so long as there’s no damage to any other of your insured items.

Excess-free Hearing Aid Cover

With this optional add-on, you no longer need to pay any more excess for hearing aids, so long as there’s no damage to your other items

Limited Contents Insurance

This is AA’s basic contents cover. Still, it offers a lot of good benefits for those looking for coverage on a budget. Benefits include:

Cover for burglary, fire, storm, flood, or natural disasters

This is a standard cover for these specific incidents. For further coverage for incidents other than these, you may look into the more comprehensive cover.

New for Old

Same as their more comprehensive cover, AA home and contents insurance in NZ will find a new replacement for items beyond repair with some categories covered for market value.

Business tools and professional equipment

Your business equipment is covered for up to $2,500 per incident.

Adjustable event limits

While there’s no need to list individual items, you also need to give the total combined value for items like jewellery, cameras, bicycles, works or art, and business tools in order to help with this benefit.
