Meridian Energy rates
Pricing with Meridian varies from customer to customer. If you’re living in a smaller student flat or a studio apartment, the Low User plan will see you pay less for using less.
By the same token, if you’re powering a large family home or a second home, you’ll be charged more for the heightened usage with the incentive of saving over time.

Low User Plan
As the name suggests, those on low user plans are charged less for their consumption owing to the fact that they generally use less electricity as compared to Standard Users. The Minister for Energy has specified limitations on which properties are eligible for low user plans - for example, you can’t sign up your holiday home to a low user plan.
Standard User Plan
The Standard User Plan is for those who use more power (for example, larger houses) and has a higher charge to match. However, those on a Standard User plan are charged a slightly lower rate for every unit of electricity that they use. Meridian are always available for consultation on how this works, as it can vary depending on the user and the type of power supply to their home.
