The vaccine is free of charge for everyone. While this isn’t mandatory, it’s highly advisable to get your shots for your protection and the people around you. New Zealand is also buying vaccines for Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu.

Recently, authorities have allowed 12-15 years old kids and their parents or guardians to book their vaccination appointments.

Groups eligible for the vaccine

Apart from children aged 12-15, groups 1, 2, 3, and 4 are also eligible for vaccines. In a nutshell, these groups can be defined into:

Group 1: Border and isolation facility workers and the people they live with
Group 2: Frontline and essential workers, including those in petrol stations
Group 3: People at high risk of getting COVID-19 like senior citizens
Group 4: People aged 40+
