Q Card was created by Consumer Finance Limited as a way for Kiwis to get the most out various purchases, from electronics to travelling, and from furniture to gardening. Whether in-store or online, Q Card lets Kiwis get exclusive discounts on store partners such as Farmers, Mobil, and House of Travel, on top of a 3-month standard interest-free and payment holiday period. The number of Q Card NZ store partners is continuing to grow, so you can expect even more options in the future!
Q Card has evolved into Q Card Mastercard that lets you access Q card deals, rewards, and discounts in various stores. You can do so much more with a Q Card Mastercard such as cash withdrawal and cashless payment wherever Mastercard is accepted. This means you can also use your Q Card Mastercard for all your shopping needs - from overseas transactions when you’re traveling, to everyday groceries.
The Q Card Mastercard is a good fit for someone who’s not comfortable in making huge payments on a monthly basis. It spreads your payment over three months, lessening the interest and giving you more time to breathe. If you’re interested in low interest and exclusive discounts at Farmers, Flight Centre, and other popular NZ stores, considering applying for a Q Card Mastercard.
Q Card Mastercard gives the flexibility you need to pay your bills; so if you’re having problems in making monthly payments, then this card can give you more time to prepare. As your payments will be spread over 3 months, you’ll avoid getting stuck with large payments every month.
By managing your bills and checking your balance through the Q Card app, you can also avoid surprises and prepare in advance for your payments. Mastercard is accepted by thousands of local and international stores, making overseas and contactless payments possible.
You can shop in-store or online using your Q Card Mastercard for home and garden, travel and leisure, appliances and gadgets, beauty and health, furniture, automotive, and fashion and jewelry. It’s important to note that there’s quite a number of stores willing to offer interest-free purchases beyond the 3-month payment holiday, giving you the advantage to save more on services and products. Interest-free deals on partner stores range from 3 to 30 months!
Generally, Q Card Mastercard has an annual account fee of $50 (free in your first year), a standard interest rate of 25.99% p.a. (at the end of the payment holiday), an international transaction fee of 1.4% (converted to NZ dollars), an establishment fee of $55 for new Q Card Mastercard holders and a cash advance rate of 27.25% p.a. Exceeding your Q card credit card limit won’t be charged but purchases will be declined when you use the card. Default fees and charges may also apply when you default under your agreement with Q Card.
Q Card deals are integrated with the innovative features of Mastercard. This ranges from small to big purchases, and from short to long-term interest-free offers. When you need to make big purchases, such as international flights, dental treatments, or home furnishing, Q Card Mastercard gives you access to interest-free deals that range from 12 to 30 months. It’s also built with Tap & Go™ for contactless payments, and Mastercard SecureCode™ for maximum security on your transactions.
A Q Card Mastercard is the new version of a Q Card wherein you’ll get access to the same Q Card deals, benefits, and offers. The major difference is that the Q Card Mastercard acts like a credit card, and therefore lets you make cash withdrawals in NZ and abroad, and purchases in any store that accepts Mastercard.
Yes; you can shop without your Q Card Mastercard and instead use your Customer ID number, which is located at the back of your card and the top right side of your monthly bill. You can use your Customer ID number to make both small and big purchases.
Q card credit requirements include a NZ Driver Licence, a NZ passport, or a foreign passport with a valid NZ Residency Visa. If you provide a foreign passport, you’ll need to secure a proof of address that’s less than three months old.

I was a little hesitant to stay on the call when I first picked up but I’m glad I stayed until I did. Josua Legavai was the lovely lady taking care of me. She was so friendly, clear and helpful. She helped me understand everything I needed to and explained everything with great detail. I am still young and learning and have just moved into a new home with my son so I’m grateful she was able to help me today.
Highly recommend Jordan at Glimp, very professional and really good at her job! thank you for the help definitely saved me alot of time ready for our move thank you Jordan A+++++
I'm so happy I asked Glimp for help, to find a service provider that suits our family's budget, without losing quality and unlimited data on both our mobile phones and broadband. Mele Falahola is a Comparison Specialist from Glimp and she was amazing from the beginning. Mele located the right service provider for our needs that will save us money!, fulfil our usage and more! compared to what we were using. My wife and I even asked for a comparison on our electricity bill. Mele responded immediately once she saw our monthly bills and compared it to another provider that not only do not required a contract to stick too (like the mobile and broadband provider Mele recommended) but their price per kWh was so much better! Which is why we changed that also. Thank you Mele and Glimp for your help. We can now look forward to our Christmas holiday in the Cook Islands from what we can now save. :-)
